Protection Between Connections

Why a cap is offered
Powersafe connectors are rated IP67, but that rating applies when a source and drain are mated. Once they are uncoupled, the mating face of each connector is open. Phase 3 lists protective caps as an optional part of the Powersafe range, intended to protect connectors from moisture, dirt and abrasion when uncoupled. The PP01192 is the cap for the line source side, and Phase 3's brochure notes that caps and other accessories are available alongside the connectors themselves.

Which connectors it suits
A line source is the cable-mounted Powersafe connector built around a male contact, set in a female insulator; Phase 3 treats the source as normally the live end.
