The Powersafe SLS0020 is the blue Line 3 source of the 800A Powersafe series, made to take 240mm² copper cable. With it, the supply side of a Powerlock-compatible three phase set is complete: a crimped male contact, L3 keying and a connection that locks.

The Third Phase, Supply Side

Not a neutral
Blue is a neutral colour in some wiring schemes, which makes the keying on this connector worth knowing. The SLS0020 is Line 3. It engages a Powersafe L3 drain, cable or panel mounted, and physically cannot enter a neutral, an earth or a different phase.

Capacity of the 800A series
Phase 3 uses the 800A connector on its two largest cable sizes, 240mm² and 300mm². The contact has 29 transfer bridges and each takes 30A, so 870A in all. Treat 800A as the ceiling for continuous current, with the real figure governed by cable choice and environmental factors.

Live end, made safe
Because a source is usually live, its male contact is kept out of reach inside the insulator (IP2X finger-proof). Coupling it to the drain gives an IP67 rated joint and engages the secondary lock, which a release key undoes.
