The Powersafe SLD-N-S120-M40A is a black neutral line drain connector for single pole, high-current power circuits. It terminates 120mm² cable on a set screw contact and locks to its matching source so it can't be pulled apart under load.

Keyed so it can't be mismated
Every Powersafe connector is colour coded and mechanically keyed to its line position. This neutral drain only couples with a neutral-keyed source, so phases and neutral can't be crossed when a temporary system goes together in a hurry. Once coupled, a secondary locking system needs a release key to separate the pair, which stops accidental disconnection under load.

Drain or source: which end is this?
Powersafe connectors come in source and drain formats. The source has a male contact and is usually the live end of the connection. This drain has a female contact and a male insulator, and is usually the end that receives the connection. Finger-proof contacts (IP2X) reduce the risk of touching a live part when the pair is uncoupled.

Straightforward termination
The set screw contact terminates 120mm² copper cable with no special tools required for assembly. The metric M40A gland clamps cable from 19 to 28mm outside diameter and provides integral strain relief. For smaller cable, a Powersafe reducer kit (sold separately) adapts the set screw contact to 95, 70, 50, 35 or 25mm².

A: The set screw contact is sized for 120mm² cable with an outside diameter of 19 to 28mm. Most flexible 150mm² cable also fits if its insulation OD is under the 28mm gland maximum, and reducer kits cover 25 to 95mm².

Q: Is the connector sealed when it's disconnected?
A: It is rated IP67 only when mated. Unmated it is finger-proof to IP2X but not sealed, so fit an optional Powersafe protective cap to keep out moisture and dirt.
