The Powersafe SLS0027 is a Line 1 source connector, coloured red, that terminates 300mm² copper cable. It sits at the top of the Powerlock-compatible Powersafe range: an 800A series connector whose male contact is crimped on, keyed to L1 and secured by a secondary lock.

Keyed for one job
Line 1 has its own key in the Powersafe system and the SLS0027 carries it. A Powersafe L1 drain is the one connector it will mate with, be that a line drain on the following lead or a panel drain on the load. Every other line is mechanically refused, which protects phase order.

Largest cable in the range
Powersafe line connectors stop at 300mm², and this is the L1 source for that size. It ships with the M40B gland, clamping 22–32mm, so check the overall diameter of your cable against that range before you commit.

A source is usually live
That is how Phase 3 describes it, and why the male contact is IP2X finger-proof inside its insulator when unplugged. Mating gives an IP67 rated connection and sets the secondary lock; the release key frees it.

Crimp procedure

• Bare 43mm of conductor
• Load an ME 60 hexagonal die into the hydraulic crimper
• Crimp three times, evenly along the contact
• Torque the assembled gland to 11 Nm (body and dome nut)

Only copper conductors may be used. For tooling, Phase 3 points to the HT 131-C and B 131-C; it advises a tensile test of the crimp and requires that qualified electricians handle installation, inspection and maintenance under the local and national electrical codes that apply.
