The Powersafe SPD0017 is the Line 1 drain for panels that need the T8 rating. Red, keyed for L1 and Powerlock-compatible, it is rated 800A on a copper contact with silver plating and its M12 threaded post is cabled from the back.

First Phase, T8 Rating

Line 1 keeps to itself
Each Powersafe position has a different key, and the SPD0017 carries the one for L1. A Powersafe Line 1 source is the only line connector it will accept. Red colour coding marks the first phase on the panel, and once the bayonet has turned, a secondary lock stops the source backing out until the release key is applied.

What makes it a T8
Phase 3 manufactures its 800A panel sockets using copper with silver plating, while its T5 sockets are brass. That contact is the difference. The mounting details are common to both: the flange, the gasket and the M12 threaded post termination.

Installation in brief

• Mount by the flange, or use M6 threaded inserts
• Slip a standard cable lug onto the post
• Washer, then nut: 12–14 Nm and no more

The M6 inserts allow either front or rear fixing. Phase 3 supplies panel connectors ready for direct mounting and says special tools are not required for field installation. Its guide lists two periodic checks on a drain connector: the condition of the front O-ring, which also wants a film of silicone grease, and the free travel of the spring-loaded secondary locking pin.
