The Powersafe SPD0006 is a black Neutral panel drain, a Powerlock-compatible socket that fixes to equipment and accepts a Neutral line source. This 500A (T5) connector mounts through four flange holes and is wired on an M12 threaded post with a standard cable lug.

Where a panel drain is used
Phase 3 lists the equipment its panel mounts are made for: generators, batteries and busbars, plus switchgear and power distribution boxes. As a drain, the SPD0006 is the half that a Neutral line source connector plugs into. Its Neutral key refuses an earth or phase connector, and since Powersafe's other colour schemes put black on a phase, the key is the thing to check.

Mounting and sealing
The standard connector is mounted to a panel through four fixing holes on its flange, with the supplied gasket giving a watertight seal against the panel. Where bolts through the panel do not suit, M6 threaded inserts can be fitted to the flange holes, allowing fixing from the front or the rear.

Termination behind the panel

• Take off the M12 nut and spring washer
• Place a standard cable lug, or other accessory, on the threaded post
• Refit and tighten to no more than 12–14 Nm

Once a source is mated, a secondary lock engages and the release key is needed to uncouple it. Phase 3 recommends periodic checks of the drain's front O-ring and locking pin. Fitting and maintenance are jobs for qualified electricians, done under local and national electrical codes.
