The Powersafe SLS0057 is the black Neutral source for 185mm² copper cable. This Powerlock-compatible single pole connector forms the supply end of the neutral, and mates with a Powersafe Neutral drain through a keyed coupling that locks on connection.

The Neutral's Supply End

A source needs its matching drain. The SLS0057 carries the Neutral key, so it couples with a Powersafe Neutral drain, whether that drain is cable mounted or a panel fitting, and will not go into an earth or phase connector. Do not rely on black alone to identify it, because Powersafe uses black for other lines in some colour schemes.

Phase 3 describes the source as usually the live end. Its male contact sits back inside the female insulator, finger-proof to IP2X when the connector is apart. Joined to the drain, the pair is IP67 rated, and a secondary lock keeps it joined until the release key is applied.

Crimping the 185mm² contact

• Strip to show 43mm of conductor
• Choose the ME 37 hexagonal die
• Crimp three times at equal spacing using a hydraulic tool, either the HT 131-C or the B 131-C
• Reassemble, then torque the gland to 11 Nm at its body and dome nut
