Description
RCD and MCB in one slim device. Earth leakage and overcurrent sorted.
The Tesla RCBO6K10 is a Single Pole 10A 6kA 30mA Type A RCBO built to AS/NZS 61009.1. It combines residual current (earth leakage) and overcurrent (circuit breaker) protection in a single 1P+N DIN rail device — saving switchboard space and simplifying installation over separate MCB and RCD components, approved for Australian residential, commercial, and light industrial use.
- 1P+N / 10A / 6kA breaking capacity
- 30mA residual current trip — personal protection threshold
- Type A — detects sinusoidal and pulsating DC residual currents
- C Curve overcurrent trip — general-purpose, handles moderate inrush
- 240V AC / 50-60Hz
- DIN rail mount — 1 module width, 18mm, 35mm rail
- Pillar clamp terminal — rigid conductor up to 10mm²
- IP20 rated for enclosed switchboard installation
- AS/NZS 61009.1 — approval number SGS-210384-EA
- Mechanical life: 20,000 cycles | Electrical life: 10,000 cycles
- Range: available 10A, 16A, 20A, 25A, 32A

Two Devices in One. Half the Space, Full Protection.
In a standard switchboard, each protected circuit requires both an MCB (overcurrent) and an RCD (earth leakage). An RCBO combines both functions into a single 18mm module — the same footprint as one MCB — delivering full AS/NZS 3000 compliance for circuits that require both overcurrent and earth leakage protection without doubling the module count. For residential lighting circuits, GPO circuits, and dedicated appliance circuits, the RCBO6K10 at 10A replaces two separate devices with one.
Type A — Compatible with Modern Loads
The Type A residual current characteristic detects both sinusoidal AC fault currents and pulsating DC fault currents — the types generated by modern electronic loads including LED drivers, dimmable lighting, variable speed drives, and electronically controlled appliances. A Type AC RCBO only detects sinusoidal currents and may miss fault currents from these modern loads. For any circuit feeding electronic equipment, Type A is the correct and safer choice.
Termination and Installation
Clips straight onto 35mm DIN rail. The pillar clamp terminal accepts rigid conductors up to 25mm² — no ferrules required. At 18mm wide (1 module), it occupies the same space as a single MCB. IP20 is appropriate for any enclosed switchboard or distribution enclosure. Operating temperature -5°C to 55°C.
Q: What is the difference between a Type A and Type AC RCBO?
A: A Type AC RCBO detects sinusoidal (pure AC) residual fault currents only. A Type A RCBO detects both sinusoidal and pulsating DC fault currents — the types produced by LED drivers, dimmers, switch-mode power supplies, and other electronic loads. AS/NZS 3000 and modern wiring practice recommend Type A for circuits feeding electronic equipment. The Tesla RCBO6K10 is Type A.
Q: Is the Tesla RCBO6K10 approved for use in Australian switchboards?
A: Yes. The RCBO6K10 is built to AS/NZS 61009.1 with Australian approval number SGS-210384-EA. It is suitable for use in compliant Australian residential, commercial, and light industrial switchboard installations.
Q: Can I use an RCBO instead of a separate MCB and RCD?
A: Yes — an RCBO provides both overcurrent and residual current protection in a single device, replacing the combination of a separate MCB and RCD on the same circuit. This saves switchboard space and simplifies installation. Each RCBO protects one circuit independently, so a fault or trip on one circuit does not affect other circuits — unlike a single RCD protecting multiple MCBs.
