Keyed to neutral, locked under load
Colour alone does not decide where a Powersafe connector can go: the mechanical key does. The SLD0054 is keyed to the Neutral position and will only couple with a Powersafe Neutral source connector, in line or panel mount form. When mated, a secondary lock engages that can only be opened with a release key, so the neutral cannot be pulled out while the circuit is loaded.

Why a crimp termination on 185mm²
For crimp versions, Phase 3 specifies a hexagonal die set in a hydraulic crimping tool. The 185mm² contact takes three equidistant crimps along its barrel, maximising the crimped surface area of the termination. The drain end usually receives power and is not normally live when uncoupled, with IP2X finger-proofing and IP67 sealing for dust and water.

• Strip the cable to leave 43mm of conductor exposed
