The Powersafe SPS0006 is the black Neutral panel source. Powerlock-compatible and rated 500A in its T5 form, it presents a male contact in a female insulator at the front of the panel and an M12 threaded post at the back for the cable lug.

A Neutral Point Built Into the Equipment

Where panel sources go
Generators, batteries, busbars, switchgear and distribution boxes are the equipment Phase 3 names for its panel mount sockets. The SPS0006 is the source pattern of that family. Phase 3 explains that the live end is usually the source, while the drain usually receives the connection.

Neutral only
The mating part is a Powersafe Neutral line drain. Its key matches the Neutral key in the SPS0006, and drains keyed for Earth or a line are refused. Black marks the Neutral. Once the bayonet lock is made, the secondary lock retains the drain and the release key is needed to free it.

Fixing and wiring

• Fix by the flange holes, with the gasket against the panel
• M6 threaded inserts allow front or rear fixing instead
• Put a standard cable lug over the M12 post
• Washer and nut go back on, 12–14 Nm maximum

The T5 contact is brass with silver plating, the construction Phase 3 uses for its 500A panel sockets, and the short circuit rating reaches 35.5kA. No special tools are required for field installation. Phase 3 supplies the connector fully assembled, and it reserves installation, inspection and maintenance for qualified electricians.
