Do not read blue as neutral on this connector. The SLS0053 is the L3 source, and its mechanical key only lines up with a Powersafe Line 3 drain, fitted to a cable or to a panel. A neutral, earth or other phase connector will not accept it.

Live-end protection and locking
The source is usually the energised half of a Powersafe connection. Its male contact is surrounded by the female insulator, giving IP2X finger-proof protection while uncoupled, and the connection is IP67 rated once made. A secondary locking mechanism engages on coupling and needs the release key to disengage.

Putting it on the cable

• Strip the jacket so 43mm of conductor is exposed
• Slide the conductor into the contact, with every strand inside
• Crimp three times using the ME 37 die and a hydraulic tool (HT 131-C or B 131-C)
• Assemble the insulator and gland; 11 Nm on body and dome nut

Copper conductors only. This is work for qualified electricians, who should also inspect and maintain the connector under local and national electrical codes. A tensile test on the crimp is recommended by Phase 3.
