The Powersafe SLD0016 is a black Neutral drain from the 800A end of the Powerlock-compatible Powersafe family, crimped onto 240mm² copper cable. It lets the neutral conductor match the phase connectors in a high-current single pole set.

A Neutral Sized for the Job

Inside the 800A contact
Powersafe reaches its 800A continuous rating through 29 transfer bridges in the contact, each one rated at 30A, which adds up to 870A. Phase 3 supplies its 800A connectors for 240mm² and 300mm² cable. The current a finished lead can carry continuously is still governed by the cable selected and the conditions it runs in.

Neutral by key, not just by colour
Black is used for more than one line across different Powersafe colour schemes, so the key position is what matters. This drain is keyed Neutral and joins only to a Powersafe Neutral source connector, cable or panel mounted. A secondary lock then holds the pair until a release key is inserted. Being the drain, it is normally the receiving, non-live end once unplugged.

Making the crimp

• Bare 43mm of conductor at the cable end
• Load the ME 48 hexagonal die into either hydraulic tool, the HT 131-C or the B 131-C
• Crimp three times, evenly spaced, along the contact
• Screw on the gland and tighten body and dome nut to 11 Nm
