Description
Both poles switched. One compact device.
An RCBO that only breaks the active leaves the neutral connected. The Tesla TMCBO210MA switches both, combining earth leakage, overload and short circuit protection across a 1P+N pole arrangement with a switched neutral and a 6000A breaking capacity.

Why a Switched Neutral Changes the Job
This is a 1P+N device, and the neutral is switched rather than solidly connected. When the device trips or is operated manually, both conductors are broken. For isolation before working on a final subcircuit, that removes the assumption that the neutral is dead and makes the point of isolation unambiguous.
The trade-off is width. At 36mm the device occupies two standard modules, so board space has to be planned for it at the design stage rather than discovered at fit-off. What that width buys is the switched neutral and the terminal capacity described below.
Type A Sensing and the 6000A Rating
A Type A operating characteristic responds to sinusoidal AC residual currents and to pulsating DC residual currents. That second category is the one that matters as electronic loads spread through a building, because switch mode power supplies and electronic drivers can generate residual currents an older Type AC device was never designed to see.
The datasheet publishes the breaking capacity as 6000A against Ics, the service value. A device rated at its service breaking capacity is specified to clear that fault and remain fit for continued service afterwards, rather than clearing it once and then requiring replacement.
Built for Busbar Distribution
Terminals accept rigid conductor up to 25mm², and the datasheet confirms the device suits both comb and busbar connection. On a populated board where a comb feeds a row of protective devices, that compatibility removes the individual looping that slows an install down and multiplies termination points.
The 25mm² figure is generous for a device at this current rating, which matters where the incoming conductor has been sized for volt drop or for future capacity rather than for the immediate load alone.
Endurance and Enclosure Rating
Endurance is published at 10,000 mechanical cycles and 4,000 electrical cycles. The mechanical figure covers switching without load, the electrical figure covers switching under load, and the gap between the two is normal for a device of this class. The practical read is that routine test-button operation sits comfortably within the published life.
The device carries an IP20 rating. That is a within-switchboard rating, so it needs an enclosure rated for the environment around it rather than being fitted anywhere exposed to weather or washdown.
Q: Does the Tesla TMCBO210MA switch the neutral as well as the active?
A: Yes. It is a 1P+N device with a switched neutral, so both conductors are broken when it trips or is operated by hand.
Q: How much board width does the TMCBO210MA take up?
A: 36mm, which is two standard modules. The datasheet lists the 2 pole version of this range at 36mm.
Q: What residual current does this Tesla RCBO trip at?
A: 30mA, with a Type A operating characteristic, so it detects both AC and pulsating DC residual currents.
