Why the D Curve Matters

A D curve breaker tolerates inrush currents of roughly 10 to 20 times its rated current before magnetic tripping, against 5 to 10 times for a C curve. That headroom keeps the circuit live through the brief current spike when motors, transformers, welders and large switch-mode supplies energise.
