Where the 40 Amp Rating Fits

The unit switches the neutral alongside the active, so the protected circuit is isolated on both conductors when it trips or is turned off. Its 36 mm body takes the space of two standard modules, letting per-circuit leakage protection be added one subcircuit at a time instead of relying on a single shared upstream RCD.

Tesla specifies this device against earth fault and leakage current, short-circuit and overload, and lists complementary protection against direct contact by the human body. Sensing follows the Type A operating characteristic. AS/NZS 61009-1 specifies Type A devices to respond to sinusoidal AC residual currents and to pulsating DC residual currents.
