One Device, Three Protection Functions

An RCBO does the work of a residual current device and a miniature circuit breaker together. This unit provides protection against earth fault and leakage current, short-circuit and overload, plus complementary protection against direct contact by the human body. That combination protects personal safety, helps prevent electrical fires, and stops connected equipment being damaged by fault conditions.

Because the device switches the neutral as well as the active, the protected circuit is fully isolated when the unit trips or is switched off. At 36 mm wide it occupies the same space as two standard modules, so per-circuit RCD protection can be built into a distribution board one subcircuit at a time.

Type A Sensing and 6 kA Capacity

The unit carries a Type A operating characteristic. Under AS/NZS 61009-1, Type A devices are specified to respond to both sinusoidal AC residual currents and pulsating DC residual currents. The 30 mA rated residual operating current is the sensitivity level used for personal protection.

A breaking capacity and Ics of 6,000 A suits distribution boards on supplies where prospective fault current reaches 6 kA. Ics is the service breaking capacity, meaning the device is rated to clear that fault level and remain serviceable afterwards. The 32 A rating covers heavier final subcircuits such as fixed appliance and dedicated equipment runs.

The Tesla datasheet lists this two pole RCBO series across rated currents of 6, 10, 16, 20, 25, 32 and 40 A, with 10 mA and 30 mA residual sensitivities. A board can therefore be populated from a single consistent series rather than mixing devices from different ranges.

Built for Switchboard Assembly

Terminals accept rigid conductors up to 25 mm², and the device is available for use with both comb and busbar, which keeps multi-pole board builds tidy and repeatable. An IP20 rating suits mounting inside an enclosed switchboard or distribution board rather than in an exposed position.

A mechanical life of 10,000 cycles and an electrical life of 4,000 cycles give switchboard builders and electricians a device rated for long service in power distribution systems. Tesla lists this RCBO family for use in commercial and industrial installations.

Is the Tesla TMCBO232MA an RCD or a circuit breaker?
It is both. As an RCBO it provides earth fault and leakage protection like an RCD, plus overload and short-circuit protection like a circuit breaker, in one 36 mm device.

No RCBO datasheet you hold mentions a 10 mA variant; all your RCBO/RCD sheets give 30 mA (the 6kA, 4.5kA) or 30/100/300 mA (LNL35). A 10 mA sensitivity appears in none of them. So this is an invented spec — the same pattern as the phantom figures elsewhere. It should come out. **"two pole RCBO series"** — the description body calls it "1P + N" throughout but this line says "two pole," the same 2-pole/1P+N inconsistency as the other TMCBO records. **"The Tesla datasheet lists..."** — again attributes the range, pole type, and now the 10mA/30mA sensitivities to a datasheet that isn't in your project. Stays blocked: **TMCBO232MA (description)** — no matching datasheet; cross-sheet blend; 2-pole/1P+N contradiction; Ics-attributed 6000A; unsourced application claims; **new invented 10 mA sensitivity claim**; malformed standard string. The TMCBO family (210/225/232MA) is all blocked on the same missing sheet, and the specs are now starting to *grow* unsourced claims as it goes (the 10mA sensitivity is new to this one). That drift is worth noting — each variant is adding figures the last didn't have, none from a source. Needs the TMCBO datasheet. Do you have it? And regardless of source, the 10 mA sensitivity claim should be pulled — it's contradicted by every RCBO sheet you hold. Next?
