Specifying the CDA440T in a Three-Phase Board

An RCCB is not a circuit breaker
This is an important distinction at ordering time. An RCCB provides residual current (earth leakage) protection only. It does not protect cabling against overload or short-circuit, so upstream or downstream overcurrent protection is still required. Hager's 6kA figure is a conditional short-circuit rating, meaning the device withstands that level of fault when backed by a suitable protective device. If you want both functions in one unit, an RCBO such as the Hager ADM series is the alternative.

Why Type A sensing
A Type AC device only responds to sinusoidal AC residual currents. Type A extends that to pulsating DC residual currents, which arise from equipment containing rectifiers and electronic power supplies. Hager classifies the CDA440T as Type A, Class A.
