The R10RF runs entirely on its sealed 10-year lithium battery, so there is no mains wiring to run and no batteries to replace over its life. When one alarm detects smoke, every wirelessly interconnected alarm sounds together, with up to 40 devices linked by radio frequency for whole-home coverage. That makes it a fast, low-disruption option for existing homes where running interconnect cable is impractical.

The R10RF is certified to AS 3786:2014+A1:2015+A2:2018 and listed by CSIRO ActivFire (certificate afp-3639). Queensland's smoke alarm legislation requires photoelectric, interconnected alarms in all bedrooms, connecting hallways and on each storey of leased and sold dwellings, and this alarm is approved for QLD Government Housing installation.
