The Red Smoke Mini-968/10Y is a battery-powered carbon monoxide alarm with a sealed 10-year lithium battery, giving a decade of protection with no battery changes over its life. It uses an electrochemical CO sensor for early detection of carbon monoxide leakage, sounds an 85dB local alarm, and includes a hush function and a test button. A Decade of Protection, Sealed In

The Mini-968/10Y is powered by a sealed 3V lithium battery rated for 10 years of service, so there are no annual battery changes and no risk of a flat or removed battery leaving a home unprotected. At the end of its life the alarm signals with a yellow LED flashing three times, prompting replacement of the whole unit.

Clear Alarm and Status Indication

Carbon monoxide is detected by an electrochemical sensor, with the alarm sounding at 85dB minimum at 3 metres when CO is present, accompanied by a red warning light. A green light confirms power, while a yellow light indicates a fault (two flashes) or end of life (three flashes), making the alarm's status easy to read at a glance.

Hush Function and Testing

A single button provides both testing and a hush function, allowing a nuisance alarm to be temporarily silenced. The alarm responds to rising CO levels across a graded response, from 50 PPM through to a rapid response above 300 PPM, in line with EN50291.
