Nearly half a metre of ceiling, forty watts, three whites.

The Pro-Vision PVCL-408 is the largest fitting in the crystal galaxy oyster range, 485mm across and drawing 40W for up to 3350 lumens. Sized for the Room, Not the Hallway

Diameter is the reason to pick this one over its smaller relatives. At 485mm the PVCL-408 has the physical presence to hold the middle of a large living room, an open-plan dining space or a big master bedroom, where a smaller disc looks lost on a wide ceiling. The 40W behind it backs the size up with real output, so the fitting is not just bigger but genuinely brighter. Measure the ceiling before ordering: a fitting this wide wants clear space around it, and on a narrow hallway the smaller sizes in the range sit better.

Output You Can Actually Plan Around

Pro-Vision quotes a separate lumen figure for each colour setting instead of one optimistic headline: 3200 lumens at 3000K, 3350 at 4000K and 3250 at 6000K. Tri-colour fittings commonly shed output at the warm end without saying so; having all three published means a room can be calculated, not guessed. The variation across the three settings is small, so choosing warm over cool costs almost nothing in brightness. Colour rendering above CRI 80 keeps timber, textiles and paintwork looking as they should under any of the three.

Half Power, Full Power, and a Word on the Rating

Alongside the colour selector sits a power setting offering 50 percent or 100 percent. It is a two-step preset rather than a wall dimmer, chosen at install to suit the room, so do not assume a dimmer on the circuit will control it. Half power turns a large living room light into something comfortable for the evening, and full power is there when the whole space is in active use. The rating to watch is IP20, which means no water protection whatsoever, so keep this to dry interior spaces and follow AS/NZS 3000 for the installation.

How large is the Pro-Vision PVCL-408 and what room suits it?
It measures 485mm in diameter and sits 60mm off the ceiling. That scale suits large living rooms, open-plan areas and generous bedrooms. On a narrow hallway or a small room the proportions work against it, and a smaller fitting from the same range is the better choice.

Which colour setting gives the most light?
The 4000K neutral white setting, at 3350 lumens. Warm 3000K produces 3200 lumens and cool 6000K produces 3250. The gap between the brightest and dimmest setting is under 5 percent, so colour choice can be made on appearance rather than output.

Does the PVCL-408 need a separate driver or transformer?
No. Pro-Vision lists the driver supply as wire in, meaning the gear is built into the fitting and it connects straight to the ceiling point. There is no remote driver box to find room for and nothing extra to order alongside it.
