50mm Cable 12mm Bell Mouth Stud Tinned Copper Tube Crimp Lugs
Electrotraders USPs
Description
50mm Cable. 12mm Stud. Bell Mouth Barrel. Tinned Copper. Compression Crimp Lug. Sold Individually.
The CTL50-12 is a 50mm tinned copper tube compression crimp lug with a 12mm stud hole and bell mouth barrel entry — used to terminate a 50mm² conductor to a bolted connection point such as a terminal block, earth bar, busbar, or equipment stud. The bell mouth barrel entry flares the barrel opening to guide the conductor into the barrel during termination. Annealed copper barrel with tin electroplated finish. Sold individually.

Where the CTL50-12 Crimp Lug Is Used
A compression crimp lug terminates a single conductor end to a bolted connection point — the conductor is inserted into the barrel and a compression crimp tool closes the barrel around the conductor, making a permanent, mechanically secure, low-resistance termination. The tongue of the lug is then bolted to the connection point — a terminal block, earth bar, busbar, equipment stud, or similar — using an M12 bolt through the 12mm stud hole.
The CTL50-12 is sized for 50mm² conductor — a heavy cable size used in Australian commercial and industrial electrical installations for large sub-main feeds, main switchboard incoming cables, large three-phase motor and plant circuits, and high-current distribution runs. The bell mouth barrel entry flares the opening of the barrel, making it easier to guide the conductor strands into the barrel during termination — a practical feature when working with the larger, stiffer 50mm² conductor. The 12mm stud hole suits M12 hardware — the standard bolt size used on heavier busbars, earth bars, and industrial equipment terminals where a high-current, mechanically robust connection is required. The tinned copper construction combines the excellent conductivity of annealed copper with a tin electroplated surface that resists oxidation and maintains a clean, low-resistance contact at the bolted joint over the service life of the installation.
Crimp lugs in this range are available across a wide range of cable sizes and stud hole combinations — covering the full range of conductor sizes and connection hardware used in Australian electrical installations.
Q: What is a bell mouth barrel entry?
A: A bell mouth barrel entry is a flared opening at the conductor entry end of the lug barrel — wider at the entry point than the barrel bore, guiding conductor strands into the barrel cleanly during termination. This is particularly useful with larger conductor sizes like 50mm² where the conductor is stiffer and individual strands can be harder to align with a plain barrel entry.
Q: What is the difference between CTL50-10 and CTL50-12?
A: Both are 50mm² bell mouth tinned copper tube crimp lugs with identical barrel and cable specifications. The only difference is the stud hole — CTL50-10 has a 10mm stud hole (suits M10 bolts) and CTL50-12 has a 12mm stud hole (suits M12 bolts). Select the correct size to match the bolt or stud at the connection point.
Q: Is the CTL50-12 sold individually or in a bag?
A: The CTL50-12 is sold individually.
