Where the CTL95-16 Crimp Lug Is Used

A compression crimp lug terminates a single conductor end to a bolted connection point — the conductor is inserted into the barrel and a compression crimp tool closes the barrel around the conductor, making a permanent, mechanically secure, low-resistance termination. The tongue of the lug is then bolted to the connection point — a heavy duty earth bar, main busbar, switchgear terminal, or similar — using an M16 bolt through the 16mm stud hole.

The CTL95-16 is sized for 95mm² conductor — a very large cable size used in Australian commercial and industrial electrical installations for heavy sub-main feeds, main switchboard incoming cables, large three-phase motor and plant circuits, and major high-current distribution runs. The 16mm stud hole is the largest stud diameter in the CTL range — suited to M16 hardware used on the heaviest busbars, main earth bars, large switchgear terminals, and transformer connection points where the combination of very large conductor cross-section and maximum mechanical fixing is required. The tinned copper construction combines the excellent conductivity of annealed copper with a tin electroplated surface that resists oxidation and maintains a clean, low-resistance contact at the bolted joint over the service life of the installation.

Crimp lugs in this range are available across a wide range of cable sizes and stud hole combinations — covering the full range of conductor sizes and connection hardware used in Australian electrical installations.

Q: What is the difference between CTL95-12 and CTL95-16?
A: Both are 95mm² tinned copper tube crimp lugs with identical barrel and cable specifications. The only difference is the stud hole — CTL95-12 has a 12mm stud hole (suits M12 bolts) and CTL95-16 has a 16mm stud hole (suits M16 bolts). The CTL95-16 is for use where M16 hardware is specified at the connection point — typically on the heaviest busbars, main earth bars, and large switchgear terminals.

Q: What stud or bolt size suits the CTL95-16?
A: The CTL95-16 has a 16mm stud hole, suited to M16 bolts and studs — used on the heaviest busbars, main earth bars, large switchgear terminals, and transformer connection points.

Q: Is the CTL95-16 sold individually or in a bag?
A: The CTL95-16 is sold individually.
