How the Tesla SW3PL 3 Gang Grid Plate Works

The SW3PL uses the same grid-and-cover system as the rest of the Tesla Classic Series SW range. The grid plate fixes to the wall, providing three mechanism openings. Three Tesla Classic Series switch mechanisms clip into these openings from the front — each operates independently, controlling its own circuit. The cover plate then snaps over the grid to complete the installation with a flush white finish.

Three gang plates are a practical choice wherever three circuits need to be controlled from a single wall position — common in living rooms, kitchens, and outdoor entertaining areas where lighting zones, exhaust fans, and other loads are grouped at one location. The unloaded format lets the installer select the mechanism type for each of the three gang positions independently — standard switch, two-way switch, fan controller, or intermediate switch — to suit the exact wiring requirements of the installation.

The removable cover plate is particularly useful during construction and renovation. Remove the cover before painting, apply paint right to the edge of the grid frame, then refit the cover once dry — no masking, no touch-ups, no paint on the switch faces.
