How the Tesla SW2PL 2 Gang Grid Plate Works

The SW2PL uses the same grid-and-cover system as the rest of the Tesla Classic Series SW range. The grid plate fixes to the wall at the mounting screws, providing two mechanism openings side by side. Two Tesla Classic Series switch mechanisms clip into these openings from the front — each operates independently, controlling its own circuit. The cover plate then snaps over the grid to complete the installation with a flush white finish.

A 2 gang plate is the most common multi-switch configuration in residential and commercial wiring — two circuits controlled from the one wall position. Typical uses include two lighting circuits in a room, a light and exhaust fan, or a light and a power point switch, depending on the mechanisms fitted.
