Electrotraders USPs
Description
Top of the two pole range, 6 kA core.
Higher current circuits still need overload and short-circuit protection that isolates both conductors together. The Tesla MCB2P63 is a two pole 63 amp C curve miniature circuit breaker rated at 6 kA, the largest rated current in the HPC2 two pole range.

Why Two Pole at 63 Amps
A two pole breaker switches both conductors of the circuit at once. When it trips, or when it is opened by hand, both poles break together, so the circuit is fully disconnected rather than left with one conductor still live.
That full disconnection is why two pole devices are specified where a circuit needs to be positively isolated for work, or where both conductors should break together on a fault. The two poles share a single operating toggle, so it stays simple to switch while still acting on both conductors at the same instant. This 63 A unit tops the two pole HPC2 range.
C Curve and the 6 kA Rating
The C curve tripping characteristic sits between B and D. It tolerates the brief inrush that many loads draw when first switched on, while still clearing a sustained overload or a short circuit.
The bi-metal thermal element deals with overload. It heats and bends in proportion to the current, so a small sustained overload trips slowly while a large one trips faster. Tesla builds the HPC2 series for protection against both overload and short circuit in the electrical distribution system.
The 6 kA breaking capacity is the largest fault current the device can interrupt safely. Tesla positions the HPC2 range at fault levels found across commercial, domestic and industrial applications, and offers the series with B, C or D curves. This unit is the C curve version.
Terminals, Mounting and Life
The pillar terminals clamp rigid conductor up to 25 mm², landing the cable directly. The clamp bears on the conductor rather than the screw thread, which keeps contact pressure even across a large conductor.
The body takes two modules on standard DIN rail and carries an IP20 rating, suiting it to an enclosed board. Tesla rates the mechanism at 10,000 mechanical operations and 4,000 electrical operations, a life figure that reflects normal switching and periodic testing across the working life of a board. The unit is built to IEC/EN 60898 under approval V08030.
Q: What is the highest rated current in the Tesla two pole 6 kA range?
A: 63 amps. The MCB2P63 is the top of the HPC2 two pole range, which runs 10, 16, 20, 25, 32, 40, 50 and 63 A.
Q: What is the breaking capacity of the Tesla MCB2P63?
A: It is rated at 6 kA, that is 6000 A. Tesla positions the HPC2 6 kA range for commercial, domestic and industrial applications.
Q: What cable size do the terminals take?
A: The pillar terminals with clamp accept rigid conductor up to 25 mm². The breaker takes two modules on DIN rail, is IP20 rated and is designed to IEC/EN 60898.
