The MSN163R is a 63A miniature circuit breaker with a red toggle, the same protection as the standard MSN163 but with a distinctive red operating lever. The red toggle makes the device easy to identify in a populated board – commonly used to mark a main switch, sub-main feeder or a critical circuit that staff need to find quickly. It protects against both overload and short circuit and trips automatically when either occurs.

The C tripping characteristic trips on short circuit at 5 to 10 times rated current, the general-purpose curve suited to mixed resistive and moderately inductive loads and the higher-inrush feeders a 63A rating typically serves. Backed by a 6kA short-circuit breaking capacity to IEC 60898-1 and energy limiting class 3, the MSN163R limits let-through energy during a fault to help protect downstream cabling.

At one module (17.5mm) wide, 83mm high and 70mm deep, the MSN163R clips onto standard 35mm DIN rail with 360° mounting flexibility, and its terminals take rigid conductors up to 35mm² at 2.8Nm. It is compliant with AS/NZS 60898.1, rated IP20, and operates from -25°C to 70°C to suit meter boxes, distribution boards and homes across Australian conditions. With 7.4W dissipation at full load, allow for heat in tightly packed boards. Hager auxiliaries including the MZ201 auxiliary contact, MZ202 alarm contact and MZ203/MZ204 shunt trips are available.
