The ESC427 carries four poles split evenly – two normally open and two normally closed – all driven by a single 230V AC coil. Energise the coil and the two NO poles close while the two NC poles open at the same instant. That mixed arrangement lets one device both switch a load on and disconnect another, which is exactly what changeover, interlock and sequence-control schemes need without wiring up two separate contactors.

Despite carrying four poles, the ESC427 takes just two DIN modules (35.75mm wide, 83mm high, 60mm deep) on standard 35mm rail, so it fits neatly into control and distribution boards where space is tight.
