Where the ADM65SC Fits — Accurate Sub-Metering for Residential and Commercial Installations

A kilowatt hour meter measures the actual energy consumed by a circuit or installation over time — the fundamental measurement used for electricity billing, sub-metering of tenancies, energy monitoring of equipment or circuits, and compliance verification in commercial and industrial installations. The ADM65SC delivers that measurement in a compact 2-module DIN rail format, making it straightforward to install inside a standard switchboard or DIN rail enclosure alongside the circuit protection devices serving the circuit being metered.

The LCD display provides a clear, direct reading of cumulative energy consumption in kilowatt hours — no analog needle reading required and no external display device needed. The Class 1 and Class 2 accuracy rating, EN62053-21 compliance, and 6kV rated impulse voltage confirm the ADM65SC meets the technical requirements for energy metering in Australian residential and commercial applications. The 10(60)A rating covers the standard range of single phase residential and light commercial circuit loads — from the basic 10A continuous current through to a 60A maximum, accommodating a wide range of sub-metering scenarios without requiring a current transformer in most standard applications.

The ADM65SC is the LCD single phase 2-module variant in the Andeli ADM range. The ADM65SCR(RS485) variant is also available for installations requiring remote data communication via RS485. For three phase metering, the ADM100TC is the appropriate specification.

Q: What does the 10(60)A rating on the ADM65SC mean?
A: The 10(60)A rating is the standard IEC notation for energy meter current ratings. The first figure (10A) is the basic current — the nominal current at which the meter is calibrated for maximum accuracy. The figure in brackets (60A) is the maximum current the meter can handle continuously. For most residential and light commercial sub-metering applications, the ADM65SC's 60A maximum covers the circuit load without requiring a current transformer.

Q: Does the ADM65SC require an external display or communication device?
A: No. The ADM65SC has a built-in LCD display that shows cumulative energy consumption directly in kilowatt hours. No external display, data logger, or communication device is required for basic energy monitoring. For RS485 remote data communication, the ADM65SCR(RS485) variant is the appropriate specification.

Q: Is the Andeli ADM65SC suitable for Australian residential switchboard installations?
A: Yes. The ADM65SC is rated at 230V AC and 50/60Hz, complies with EN62053-21, and mounts on a standard 35mm DIN rail in 2 module widths — making it compatible with standard Australian residential and commercial switchboard installations. Confirm the current rating is appropriate for the circuit being metered before installation.
