A compact DIN-rail contactor with a 240V coil.
The GEN3 240V Modular Contactor is a 2-pole, 20A contactor in a single DIN-rail module, operated by a 240V coil. A contactor is a coil-operated switch: energising the 240V coil closes the main contacts to switch a connected load, and de-energising it opens them again. With a mains-voltage coil, the contactor is controlled directly from a 240V control circuit, such as a timer or switch, making it well suited to switching heating and lighting loads. Its compact single-module width saves space in switchboards and distribution boards.

How a Contactor Works
A contactor switches a load using an electromagnetic coil. When the 240V coil is energised, it pulls the main contacts closed, connecting the load; when the coil is de-energised, the contacts open and disconnect the load. This allows a control signal to switch a separate power circuit automatically, without manual operation.
240V Coil Control
The 240V coil means this contactor is operated directly from a mains-voltage control circuit. This suits common applications such as switching heating and lighting loads from a timer or control switch, for example off-peak hot water or lighting contactor duties.
