Description

True double-pole protection with a 6kA rating.

The GEN3 G60X2-20A is a 20-amp double-pole RCBO safety switch with a 6kA breaking capacity, combining residual-current (RCD) and overcurrent (MCB) protection in one compact device. Unlike a single-pole RCBO, it disconnects both the active and neutral conductors on a fault or overload, yet fits in a single 18mm module, leaving more room for wiring. The higher 6kA fault rating suits installations with greater prospective short-circuit current, while the 20A rating gives headroom for larger circuits and the 30mA Type A residual-current detection provides code-compliant shock protection.

Key Features

  • 20A rated current, double pole, 6kA breaking capacity
  • Combined RCD and MCB protection (RCBO)
  • True double-pole disconnection – isolates active and neutral on fault and overload
  • Single module only, 18mm wide – more room for wiring
  • 30mA residual-current trip, Type A
  • Dual-way wiring – top and bottom line or load
  • Higher 6kA fault rating
  • AS/NZS 61009.1 compliant
  • Two-year warranty

Why a 6kA Double-Pole RCBO

A double-pole RCBO switches both the active and neutral conductors, fully isolating the protected circuit when it trips. The G60X2-20A delivers this in a single 18mm module, where double-pole protection would traditionally take two module spaces. Its 6kA breaking capacity is higher than the 4.5kA equivalent, making it suited to switchboards closer to the supply or with greater prospective fault current, while the 20A rating handles larger circuits and higher-draw loads.

RCD and MCB in One Device

As an RCBO, the G60X2-20A combines two protective functions: residual-current detection that trips on earth leakage at 30mA to protect against electric shock, and overcurrent protection that trips on overload and short circuit. The Type A classification detects both AC and pulsating DC residual currents. Dual-way wiring allows line or load connection at the top or bottom, and the unit is AS/NZS 61009.1 compliant.

Q: What does the GEN3 G60X2-20A protect against?
A: As an RCBO it provides both residual-current (earth leakage) protection at 30mA and overcurrent protection against overload and short circuit, in one device.

Q: What is the difference between the G60X2-20A and the G45X2-20A?
A: Breaking capacity. The G60X2-20A is rated 6kA and the G45X2-20A is rated 4.5kA. Both are 20A true double-pole RCBOs in a single 18mm module.

Q: What does true double-pole mean here?
A: It disconnects both the active and neutral conductors when it trips, rather than the active alone, fully isolating the circuit, and it does so in a single 18mm module.
