Description

40mm to 32mm. PVC. Grey. Screwed Conduit Reducer.

The Rylec SR4032C is a 40mm to 32mm grey PVC screwed conduit reducer — for stepping down from a 40mm threaded rigid PVC conduit to a 32mm threaded conduit connection in a conduit run. One end accepts a 40mm screwed conduit, the other provides a 32mm screwed connection, allowing a clean size transition at a threaded coupling point. Sold individually.

  • Rylec — Series "SR" PVC screwed conduit reducer
  • 40mm (female) to 32mm (male) — steps down conduit diameter at a threaded connection point
  • Grey PVC construction
  • For use with threaded (screwed) rigid PVC conduit systems
  • Sold individually

Where the SR4032C Screwed Reducer Fits

The SR4032C steps a threaded PVC conduit run from 40mm down to 32mm — used where a larger main conduit run branches into a smaller sub-run, or where a 40mm conduit system transitions to a 32mm entry point at a junction box, enclosure, or fitting. The SR4032C threads directly between the two conduit sizes without requiring separate adaptors on each end, keeping the installation clean and the fitting count low.

The 40mm to 32mm step is a common transition in commercial and light industrial conduit installations — where a 40mm main conduit run feeds branch circuits that don't require the full bore of the main run. The grey PVC construction matches the standard grey rigid conduit system. Both ends are fully threaded for direct connection into the existing screwed conduit system.

The SR range covers four consecutive size steps: SR2520C (25mm to 20mm), SR3225C (32mm to 25mm), SR4032C (40mm to 32mm), and SR5040C (50mm to 40mm) — each reducing by one standard conduit size step.

Q: What is the difference between a screwed reducer and a plain-to-screwed adaptor?
A: A screwed reducer (SR4032C) connects two threaded conduit sections of different diameters — both ends are threaded. A plain-to-screwed adaptor (PSA series) connects a plain (unthreaded) conduit tube to a threaded fitting — one end is plain socket, the other is threaded. Use the SR4032C where both conduit sections are screwed/threaded.

Q: Can the SR4032C be used in reverse — 32mm to 40mm?
A: The SR4032C has a fixed direction — 40mm female end and 32mm male end. In a standard installation it reduces from 40mm to 32mm. If a 32mm-to-40mm step-up is needed, the same fitting can be oriented in reverse depending on the installation, but confirm with your conduit system requirements before use.
