A three phase final subcircuit needs overload, short circuit and earth leakage protection. The Tesla LNL35 C16 puts all three in one 3P+N device only 54mm deep, so it drops into distribution panels that will not take a deeper body.

Why the LNL35 Suits Tight Distribution Panels

Depth is the constraint nobody plans for. Board width gets counted at design stage; depth gets discovered on site, usually with the lid half on. The LNL35 body measures 54mm deep. In a shallow surface mount panel or a recessed enclosure with limited clearance behind the escutcheon, that figure is often the difference between the door closing and a change of switchgear. The neutral is brought out on an 80cm flying lead rather than a fixed terminal, which gives room to route it to the neutral bar wherever it sits in the enclosure.

One device across three phases plus neutral. Protecting a three phase circuit with separate devices means a three pole breaker upstream of a shared residual current device, and a leakage fault on any load then drops everything behind that shared RCD. The LNL35 C16 carries the overcurrent and residual current functions together in a 3P+N (Switched) body, so a fault clears the affected circuit only. The C curve suits general purpose and mixed loads.

What the published ratings tell you. Two breaking figures appear on this device and they answer different questions. The 10kA rating is the short circuit breaking capacity, the prospective fault current the device is built to interrupt. The 2000A figure is the rated residual making and breaking capacity, which covers the device performing its residual current function rather than its overcurrent function. Alongside those sits energy limiting class 3, describing how tightly let-through energy is held during a short circuit, and a published endurance of 10,000 electrical operations against 30,000 mechanical operations.

Rated for Australian three phase work. The unit is an electronic type device rated 400/415V AC at 50/60Hz with a 10kA rating, built to IEC/EN AS/NZS 61009-1, IEC 61009-2-2 and AS/NZS 61009.1. Terminals accept cables up to 25mm2 and the body mounts on standard 35mm DIN rail. Supplied one per box, twenty per outer carton.
