Description

Tesla L7. 7 Hole Neutral Link. Black Cover. 100A. 500V. Max 25mm².

The Tesla L7 is a 7 hole neutral link with a black tinted transparent polycarbonate cover — used in electrical switchboards to connect and distribute the neutral conductor from the main supply to multiple outgoing circuits. The black cover identifies this as a neutral link in compliance with Australian electrical conventions, distinguishing it from the red-covered active link (L7R). Rated for cables up to 25mm². Numbered terminals aid identification and wiring accuracy. Sold individually.

  • Tesla L7 — 7 Hole Neutral Link with Black Cover
  • Black tinted transparent polycarbonate cover
  • 7 hole terminal positions — numbered for circuit identification
  • 5 tunnels at 4.8mm diameter — suits 1 x 16mm² cable per tunnel

  • Two screws per tunnel for secure termination
  • Brass bar links main supply neutral to outgoing circuits
  • Rated: 100A, 500V maximum
  • Maximum cable size: 25mm²
  • Sealable cover — brass insert sealing screw resists stripping

What the Tesla L7 Neutral Link Does

A neutral link connects the incoming neutral conductor from the main supply to the neutral conductors of multiple outgoing circuits. The L7 provides 7 terminal positions with two different tunnel sizes — the 8mm tunnels accommodate cables up to 25mm², allowing heavier service or sub-main neutral conductors to be terminated alongside standard circuit conductors in the same link. This makes the L7 a practical choice for switchboards where the neutral distribution needs to handle a mix of heavier supply conductors and standard circuit neutrals from one link.

The black tinted polycarbonate cover provides physical protection over the neutral brass bar and terminal screws while remaining transparent for inspection — wiring and the sealing screw can be checked without removing the cover. The cover is sealable with a brass insert sealing screw that resists stripping.

The 7 terminal positions split into two tunnel sizes: five tunnels at 4.8mm for cables up to 16mm², and two tunnels at 8mm for cables up to 25mm². Each tunnel has two clamping screws for dual-point termination. Numbered terminals allow each circuit neutral to be clearly identified at the link for wiring, testing, and maintenance.

The Tesla L7 (black cover, neutral link) and L7R (red cover, active link) are the companion pair for 7-position heavy-cable neutral and active switchboard distribution. The Tesla neutral and active link range also covers 5-hole (L5/L5R) and 12-hole (L12/L12R) configurations.

Q: What is the difference between the Tesla L7 and the L7R?
A: The L7 has a black tinted cover and is used as a neutral link. The L7R has a red tinted cover and is used as an active link. Both have the same 7 hole, 100A rated brass bar and identical tunnel sizes (5×4.8mm + 2×8mm). The cover colour is the distinguishing identifier per Australian wiring conventions.

Q: How does the L7 compare to the L5 and L12 neutral links?
A: All three are black-covered neutral links rated 100A and 500V. The L5 has 5 holes (3×5.5mm + 2×8mm, max 25mm²). The L7 has 7 holes (5×4.8mm + 2×8mm, max 25mm²) — more circuit positions than the L5 while retaining 25mm² capacity. The L12 has 12 holes (all max 16mm²) — more positions but no 25mm² capacity.

Q: Can the L7 be sealed after installation?
A: Yes — the cover has a sealing screw with a brass insert that resists stripping, allowing the cover to be sealed after installation.
