The Rylec SG20C is a 20mm PVC straight gland for terminating 20mm corrugated electrical conduit into a switchboard, enclosure, junction box, or other electrical enclosure with a knockout entry. The gland screws into the 20mm knockout hole in the enclosure wall; the corrugated conduit clips into the gland at the other end. Where the Rylec SG20C Corrugated Conduit Gland is Used

Corrugated conduit glands are the standard termination fitting wherever a flexible corrugated conduit run connects into an electrical enclosure. In Australian electrical installations, flexible corrugated conduit (also called corrugated trunking or flexible duct) is used to route cables through wall cavities, ceiling spaces, under floors, and along exposed surface runs — providing mechanical protection for the cables inside. At each enclosure entry point — switchboards, meter boxes, junction boxes, weatherproof enclosures, and similar — the corrugated conduit must be properly terminated to prevent the conduit from pulling out of the enclosure and to maintain a clean, mechanically protected entry.

The SG20C is the 20mm straight gland — 20mm is the most common corrugated conduit size in residential and light commercial electrical installations, used to protect standard TPS cable runs and data cables. The straight format means the conduit enters the enclosure perpendicular to the face — the correct choice for most standard installations where the conduit run approaches the enclosure from the same axis as the knockout hole.

Installation is straightforward — the gland body is pushed through the knockout from the outside, the locknut is threaded onto the gland body from the inside and tightened to clamp the gland against the enclosure wall, and the corrugated conduit is then pushed onto the gland until it clips into the retention ribs.
