Description
A compact DIN-rail contactor with a 24V control coil.
The GEN3 24V Modular Contactor is a 2-pole, 20A contactor in a single DIN-rail module, operated by a 24V control coil. A contactor is a coil-operated switch: energising the 24V coil closes the main contacts to switch a connected load, and de-energising it opens them again. The low-voltage 24V coil allows the contactor to be controlled from a separate control circuit, such as a timer, building management system or thermostat, making it suited to switching lighting, HVAC and other loads. Its compact single-module width saves space in switchboards and distribution boards.

How a Contactor Works
A contactor switches a load using an electromagnetic coil. When the 24V control coil is energised, it pulls the main contacts closed, connecting the load; when the coil is de-energised, the contacts open and disconnect the load. This allows a low-voltage control signal to switch a separate power circuit safely and remotely.
Low-Voltage 24V Control
The 24V coil means this contactor is operated from a 24V control circuit rather than mains voltage on the coil. This suits installations where switching is driven by a timer, building management system, PLC or thermostat, commonly for lighting circuits, HVAC and general load control.
Compact DIN-Rail Mounting
Built into a single module roughly 18mm wide, the contactor mounts on standard DIN rail and takes up minimal space in a switchboard or distribution board, leaving more room for other devices.
Q: What does the 24V refer to on this contactor?
A: It is the control coil voltage. The contactor's coil is energised by a 24V control signal, which closes the main contacts to switch the connected load.
Q: What is a modular contactor used for?
A: It switches loads such as lighting, HVAC or pumps on and off from a control circuit, mounted on DIN rail in a switchboard. The coil operates the main contacts.
Q: How wide is it?
A: It is a single module, approximately 18mm wide, for standard DIN-rail mounting.
