About Snap Bushings

A snap bushing (also called a snap bush, cable grommet, or panel bushing) is a one-piece nylon fitting that snaps into a drilled or punched hole in a chassis, panel, or enclosure wall — providing a smooth, rounded passage for cables, wires, and conduit to pass through without contact with the sharp metal edges of the hole. Without a bushing, cable insulation is at risk of abrasion damage from sharp hole edges, which can lead to insulation failure, short circuits, and electrical faults over time — particularly in vibrating environments such as vehicles and machinery.
