The Clipsal 56K2SW115-GY is a key-operated single-pole surface-mount switch in a sealed IP66 polycarbonate enclosure. Rated 15A at 250VAC, it provides controlled ON-OFF switching where authorised personnel can lock the circuit in either the ON or the OFF position using the removable key.

The 56 Series key-operated range uses a naming convention that tells you exactly what the lock does and which key it takes:

• K1 - Locks in OFF position only
• K2 - Locks in ON and OFF positions
• CK - Common Key

Why it Matters

ON-or-OFF Lockable, Key-Controlled

The K2 mechanism gives you a choice most weatherproof switches do not: lock the circuit either firmly ON for critical equipment that must not be turned off casually, or firmly OFF for maintenance and lockout-tagout. Only someone holding the key can change the switch state, and the rotary handle also accepts two 8 mm padlocks for additional mechanical lock-out.

The IP66 seal to AS 60529 keeps dust out and withstands direct water jets. Operating from -25 to 75 °C, the polycarbonate housing is designed to hold up in outdoor installations and industrial environments exposed to dust, jetted water and wide temperature swings.

A: The K2 designation means the switch can be locked with the removable key in either the ON or the OFF position. The K1 variant locks in the OFF position only.

Q: Is the 56K2SW115-GY supplied with a common key?
A: No. Without CK in the part number, the switch is supplied with a random key. CK-suffix variants use the common No 103 key but are not currently in our range.
