Clipsal specifies a magnetic tripping limit of 5 to 10 times rated current for this breaker, an energy limitation class of 3, and a rated service breaking capacity of 6000 A at 100 percent.

Busbar and Terminals

The breaker is compatible with the MAX9 18 mm pitch pin type busbar, and with MAXBAR when used as a main incomer. A double locking clip allows installation or removal from the busbar, and the line connection can be made from the top or the bottom. Tunnel type terminals accept 1 to 16 mm² flexible or 1 to 25 mm² rigid conductors, with a 14 mm stripping length and 2 N.m tightening torque.

Board Space and Ratings

The breaker is 18 mm wide across two 9 mm pitches, which is one standard module, at 85 mm high with a 44 mm embedding depth and a 45 mm grid distance. It is rated IP20, pollution degree 2, overvoltage category III, with a 4 kV rated impulse withstand voltage and 500 V rated insulation voltage. Heat dissipation is 2.1 W.

Does the MX9MC116 provide earth leakage protection?
No. This is a miniature circuit breaker providing overcurrent and short-circuit protection only. Residual current protection requires an RCD or RCBO.
